This mama was a hot mess!
As I poured through old photos
Of my little princess.
We picked out an outfit
Made sandwiches with peanut butter.
All the while, the girl was excited
How can this be?
Terrible twos, tyrannical threes
Where’d the time go?
I wish time could just freeze.
I know she’ll be fine, it’ll be a piece of cake.
Making new friends, being brave and not shy.
I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain tomorrow,
And try not to cry.
I know I’m not the only mother
Experiencing, not even sure what to call it—that’s the worst!
It’s bittersweet and inevitable
The first of many firsts.
